Clipx

Clipx clipboard history manager

If you're like me, a copy & paste maniac, you'll love Clipx. This tiny program sets itself  up unobtrusively in you system tray and records you're copying efforts to the clipboard – up to 1024 of them if you so choose! I find that 100 is sufficient for my use and the ability to recall past copies is invaluable. Whether for copying and recalling content, urls, passwords or just about anything you might want to recall, having Clipx record your efforts pays big rewards and the cost is unbeatable, as in FREE. Options include changing the tray icon, custom hot keys, popup control and even the ability to add plugins to further customize your experience. Do yourself a favor and add this simple but powerful tool to your toolbox. Go here to download Clipx now.

Malvertisements – don’t get sucker punched

Posted on | No Comments

malvertisements = malicious advertisements

online advertisements that dupe unsuspecting users into downloading malicious software on their computers

Before clicking you may want to check out the “advertiser” using this free Google tool:

http://www.anti-malvertising.com/

It’s relatively new and it’s database is limited but at least it’s a start.

Password Safe for safely storing all your passwords

Posted on | 2 Comments

Safely store, organize and manage all your passwords with one simple little utility – Password Safe. Instead of remembering dozens of passwords, remember just one.  Just a few of the items that you can store for a single password are Title, Username, Password, URL and Notes. You can organize them into Groups, create your passwords manually or let the program create the password for you according to a predefined password policy that you control. I use Roboform for online passwords but I wouldn’t think of relying on anything else but Password Safe for the security of all my many passwords and user names. Best of all, it’s open source so it’s FREE.
